Board of Health
The mission of the Board of Health is to promote and protect the health of the community.

Building Department
The Building Department responsibilities include the protection of the health, safety and welfare of the residents through the enforcement of State and local laws, by-laws and regulations. This department issues permits for all types of construction including all public and private buildings.

Conservation Commission
The Conservation Commission is responsible for the preservation of open land and the protection of wetlands through the provisions of the State and Federal Wetlands Protection statutes.

Historical Commission
The Historic District and Historical Commission were created to preserve and protect the distinctive characteristics and architecture of buildings and places that are significant in the history of Carlisle

Planning Board
The Planning Board's overall responsibility under State law is to protect the health, safety and welfare of Carlisle's residents. The Board strives to preserve and enhance Carlisle's character through the use of its regulatory tools, while also respecting property owners' rights.

Zoning Board of Appeals
The ZBA hears and decides upon appeals by persons who have been unable to obtain a permit from the Carlisle Building Department in accordance with the Carlisle zoning bylaws.
