Green Communities
Carlisle achieved Green Communities designation in 2011. Since then, many projects in Town have been funded by this program, overseen by the Department of Energy Resources (DOER).
2011: $139,00 for energy Conservation Measures, HS education program, solar PV array, Energy Management Systems, exterior lighting, lighting controls, plug load, vending misers, in municipal facilities including Town Hall, Carlisle Public Schools, and various municipal buildings.
2014: $48,763 for energy Conservation Measures at the Gleason Library and Carlisle Public School.
2015: $116,059 for HVAC controls, retro-commissioning, lighting with controls, refrigeration controls, variable frequency drives, water heater, and an electricity to natural gas heating system conversion in municipal facilities, including Gleason Library, Town Hall, Carlisle School, and Brick Building.
2016: $197,267 for interior and exterior lighting, heat pump, faucet aerators, thermostats and weatherization, in municipal facilities including town-owned streetlights, Wastewater Treatment Plant, Town Hall, and DPW.
2018: $171,968 for HVAC upgrades, LED lighting / controls, de-stratification fans, control valves / EC motor, anti-idle units, and EV charging station, at the Spalding Building (CPS), Town Hall, DPW, and Gleason Library.
2023: $69,417 for building weatherization and air-sealing at Town Hall, Carlisle Public School, and Gleason Library.
2025: $15,425 for spray foam insulation at the Brick Building.
