Mission of the Carlisle Council on Aging and Human Services

The mission of the Carlisle Council on Aging & Human Services (COAHS) is to promote active aging by providing services, connections, and enrichment to residents ages 60 and older and to provide information, referral, social services, and support to residents of any age.  


Services Include:

  • Safe gathering spaces for socialization and support
  • Social Services: social work evaluation and referrals, medial insurance counseling and enrollment assistance, caregiver support, memory and cognition support, tax preparation, benefits applications assistance, and legal support
  • Health and Wellness: fitness room and classes, balance, medical equipment loans, home safety, blood pressure clinics, vaccinations, physical therapy, and podiatry
  • Nutrition Support: Monthly meals and Meals on Wheels
  • Transportation: Three Vehicle fleet for programs and medical rides
  • Education and Enrichment Programs: music, dance, language, lectures, digital support, and travel

Carlisle Council on Aging & Human Services (COAHS) programs take place throughout town at multiple community locations, depending on the activity. Our most common venues include:

  • Carlisle Town Hall
  • Gleason Public Library Hollis Room (3rd Floor)
  • Benfield Farms Community Room
  • Village Court Sleeper Room
  • Brick Building
  • Free Religious Society Union Hall (FRS)
  • Carlisle Congregational Church Fellowship Hall  (CCC)
  • St. Irene’s Parish Hall

New participants & check-in

If it’s your first time attending a COAHS program, please check in with staff when you arrive so we can get you set up in our system. For most programs, we also ask participants to check in upon arrival (with staff, a sign-in sheet, or a kiosk depending on the site).
