PROJECT GOALS
The existing Carlisle Fire Station, built in 1985, does not adequately meet the current and future needs of the Fire Department. The Fire Station will be renovated and expanded to meet the following project goals:
- Meet current and anticipated safety standards for Carlisle Firefighters and EMTs.
- Provide living/working space necessary to attract and retain on-call firefighters.
- Accommodate gender equity within the facility.
- Maximize existing space and only add cost effective space based on needs assessment.
- Maintain a high level of sustainability in the completion of the project
The Carlisle Select Board will appoint a Fire Station Building Renovation Committee to assist the OPM and Designer with the project. Funding for the project will require both Town Meeting approval and voter approval.
