The Select Board has asked its Safety Committee to make a recommendation about projects to submit to the Complete Streets grant program this year. Complete Streets is a MassDOT program that awards municipalities up to $500k every four years to tackle projects that would provide “safe and accessible options for all travel modes - walking, biking, transit and vehicles - for people of all ages and abilities.” Carlisle is eligible for all $500k in 2026. The Committee has spent the last several months working through and reprioritizing a list of projects with town staff — these are projects that would, for example, add pathways or crosswalks, or redesign an intersection to improve safety. Now we’d like your feedback on how we did!
Join us at 7pm on Thursday March 27th in the Clark room or on Zoom. We can share our prioritization rationale and what we are hoping to accomplish should we receive this funding, and then we will open the floor to the public to hear what is important to all of you.
The application deadline is May 1st so we don’t have very much time before the Select Board will have to make the final determination. If you can’t make it Thursday, you can email your thoughts to Safety Committee at safetycom@carlislema.gov.
See you Thursday!
