Message from the Select Board on May 30, 2024:
On Monday, approximately 200 flags celebrating the beginning of Pride Month which were lawfully permitted and displayed on the town rotary were stolen in the nighttime hours. Such action and behavior have no place in Carlisle and our police department is working to identify whoever is responsible and they will be held accountable. On behalf of the Town of Carlisle, the Select Board would like to reiterate that Carlisle is an inclusive community that respects the freedoms and the rights of individuals. Stealing property and undermining freedom of expression is a cowardly act and has no place in our town. We are saddened by this act and for the harm it has caused, but we look forward to celebrating Carlisle as a strong and inclusive community at the upcoming pride event at 3:15pm on May 31st.
