Avoid Late Fees – License Dogs by March 31, 2021

The Office of the Town Clerk will begin charging late fees for dogs licensed after March 31, 2021. The late fee is $25 per household in addition to the licensing fee.

All dogs older than six months must be licensed according to Massachusetts General Law CH 140 §137 and §145B;
Carlisle General Bylaw 14.6.2.3 requires annual licensure.

The Office is aware ofCOVID-related delays in vaccination appointments at veterinarian offices.  If your dog(s)’ rabies vaccination expires before March 31, 2021 and you cannot get an appointment before March 31, 2021, we will waive the $25 late fee if you submit the license application before March 31st with a note that includes the date of the appointment with your veterinarian.  When your dog(s) have been vaccinated, submit your payment and a copy of rabies certificate and the license will be issued. If you fail to notify us before March 31, 2021 that you have scheduled an appointment, you will be charged the $25 late fee.
