Press Release for January 5, 2021
Select Board Special Meeting
The Town of Carlisle has begun a process, required by law, which could result in a new multi-year license agreement between Comcast and the Town of Carlisle.
In preparation for the negotiation of a new agreement, the Town is undertaking certain activities required by law. Those activities include an examination of the past performance of the Comcast and a Community Needs Assessment. The Community Needs Assessment will help determine future services to be provided by Comcast such as community channels, equipment, and resources that will be available to Carlisle residents, community groups, schools, and the Town.
The Town is holding a special meeting of the Select Board to give the community a “heads-up” about the importance of public input into the Community Needs Assessment and how they can get involved.
This special meeting of the Select Board will happen remotely via Zoom on January 5, 2021 at 7:00 pm and will be available afterwards on Comcast Channels 8/9 and online on Carlisle’s YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwJiQYrfa7zAvD3O9jOm-ew .
The Buske Group a consulting firm with over 40 years of experience serving local governments, community media centers, schools, and educational institutions has been hired to guide the Town in the renewal process and the Community Needs Assessment. Sue Buske, President of The Buske Group will be providing a special presentation at the January 5th meeting.
