The MA Department of Public Health announced on August 12, 2025, that Carlisle has been elevated to high risk for West Nile Virus (WNV) transmission. Residents are advised to take precautions to avoid mosquito bites, such as using insect repellent, wearing protective clothing, eliminating standing water where mosquitoes breed, and being aware of peak mosquito hours from dusk to dawn.
