The Town Administrator would like to thank our public safety teams for their efforts over the September 8-11th weekend responding to a storm that caused considerable damage and power outages in Carlisle. Here are details about this weekend's storm response. We understand many residents lost power and collaborated with our officials to return service efficiently. Police
- Answered 58 storm-related calls for service
- Calls included assistance with safety hazards, traffic hazards, and general assistance
- Officers continue to work with DPW crews to remove hazards from roadways
Dispatch
- Received 207 calls between 9-1-1 and the department’s business line
- 70 phone calls occurred within the first 50 mins of the storm
Fire
- Responded to a total of 9 fire calls and one reported structure fire. Also maintained station coverage for the duration of the storm response
- Fielded 16 firefighters and 2 officers for a total of 92 person-hours of labor
- Calls for service including responding to tree damaged homes and wires down
- Ongoing support over the weekend included a medical call related to storm clean up, assistance with power outages, generator issues, and fallen transformers
Department of Public Works
- Cleared 17-20 areas along the main roads with additional emergency clean-ups requested through the weekend. Work included more than 115 overtime hours.
- Crews reported that all roads were open and passable as of Monday, September 11, 2023, but teams continue to work with the police to clear all main roads
- The Director expects work to continue for a month to fully cover all areas impacted by the storm. Carlisle, Massachusetts Police Department Carlisle Fire Department
