Tom Brownrigg has volunteered for decades in various conservation roles for the Town of Carlisle, including over 15 years as a member of the Conservation Commission, a member of both the Land Stewardship Committee and the Conservation Restriction Advisory Committee.
His particular interest in native birds and protecting their habitat, especially bobolink nesting sites in Towle Field. He has led the Wildlife Habitat Management of Towle Field, including multi-year invasive plant and poison ivy removal projects. Tom has also conducted the research necessary to submit for certification over 45 vernal pools in Carlisle for the Natural Heritage and Endangered Species Program.
The Conservation Commission enthusiastically voted to present this year’s award to Tom Brownrigg.
